Title: Looking for Alaska
Author: John Green
Rating: 5/5
Overall (amazon.com): Before. Miles “Pudge” Halter is done with his safe life at home. His whole life has been one big non-event, and his obsession with famous last words has only made him crave “the Great Perhaps” even more (Francois Rabelais, poet). He heads off to the sometimes crazy and anything-but-boring world of Culver Creek Boarding School, and his life becomes the opposite of safe. Because down the hall is Alaska Young. The gorgeous, clever, funny, sexy, self-destructive, screwed up, and utterly fascinating Alaska Young. She is an event unto herself. She pulls Pudge into her world, launches him into the Great Perhaps, and steals his heart. Then. . . .
After. Nothing is ever the same.
My thoughts: Looking for Alaska is one of my favourite books, maybe because I'm a teenager, but it is. This book is about friendship, suffering, finding yourself and love. I love Alaska, Pudge, Colonel and Takumi. They are all different and they're not perfect. I hate when author idealizes characters, because nobody is perfect. I think Culver Creek is an awesome school including the Eagle. He is such a funny person. This school really changed Miles and I think that he finally found who he really is. And now let's say something about Alaska. She is a person I wish I could meet. You won't be suprise that she's my favourite character. When I was reading this book I felt amusement, anger and sadness. I definitely recomend this book.
Thanks for reading,
Dominika.
